Take Google Maps Indoors!

Take Google Maps Indoors!

Have you ever been in this situation? You land in an airport you have never been to before, the plane you are on now landed late, and you somehow have to find your connecting flight within the next 15 minutes. Panicked, you shove your way past the other passengers with your carry-on luggage whacking people in the face as you rush by. You finally make it out of the terminal and enter the vast maze known as the airport. Wouldn’t it be great if there were some kind of tool or app to help you find your way around? There are people to ask, but they are always too busy or their answers are not especially helpful.

As always, Google is here to save the day! They have released a new update for smart phone users that will hopefully save you from the headache and frustration that most people deal with in traveling through unfamiliar airports. Google Maps is now moving to the indoors, and maps are available specifically for airports and major retailers. Check it out:

I know I am not the only one who has been lost in a nonresident airport before, so I think this app will be popular. Aside from airports, this new app also features maps of large commercial stores. With it, shoppers will be able to find their way through the labyrinth layout of IKEA and other large stores, which can be overwhelming.

What do you think of this new update? Are you likely to use Google maps indoors the next time you travel? Share your thoughts below!
