As the year wraps up, we’re busy taking a look at some of the biggest trends from the last 12 months. 2019 was a pretty big year for Boostability—we celebrated our tenth anniversary! But the digital marketing world in general had a pretty great year, too. Global ad spending is predicted to hit over $330 million by the end of year, and there are almost two billion unique websites now active on the web.
In order to decide what to focus on in our end-of-year highlight reel, we turned to the Google trends feature. We decide we’d take a look at two major topics—digital marketing and SEO—and see what additional terms or search queries came along with them this year. Here’s what we found.
Every marketing campaign is focused around a central goal: generate leads, which in turn generate revenue. It’s no wonder that alongside searches for digital marketing, people also looked for help with lead gen.
Back in June 2019, Amanda Price and Matt Tennison, two of our vice presidents, were keynote speakers at the Conquer Local conference in San Diego, California. They focused their remarks on partnering lead generation with retention, since it costs five times more to find a new customer than to keep an existing one. We featured a version of their keynote address in a webinar the following month. If you’re looking for ways to build strength in your current consumer base while still working to attract new buyers, this is the presentation for you.
Customer relationship management
Once you’ve secured a new customer or started to build a relationship with an existing one, maintaining that relationship is crucial. Customer relationship management was one of the top searchers in tandem with digital marketing, and in an age where online reviews and customer satisfaction are top priorities, it’s easy to see why. Online reviews are today’s word of mouth. If a business has bad reviews online through sites like Google and Yelp, it reduces the credibility of a business in the eyes of a public because they do not view it as trustworthy.
Developing secure relationships with people who use your products or services is a multifaceted project, but one of the most efficient ways to do this is actually SEO. An unimpressive web presence, either from bad website design or sub-par SEO, can hinder an otherwise profitable relationship with your customers. Great search engine optimization creates a web presence that’s trustworthy and reliable, which in turn leads to better online reviews and overall customer satisfaction.
Here at Boostability, we know SEO is more than just finding the right keyword. We’re striving to make our clients’ digital footprint make a mark in the real world. In order to do that, we’re very clear about what we do—and what we don’t.
White label product
The top related search for SEO was “white label product,” and as the world-wide leader in white label SEO, we’re excited to see this term so high in the SERPs. White labeling allows companies and organizations to rebrand particular products as their own. In the tech world, this usually means selling a service like web design or SEO implementation under one company’s name, while another organization provides the work. White labeling is a preferable alternative when it comes to highly technical solutions; these industries often require years of training and regular updating in order to stay current with new innovations and trends. White labeling a product allows a company to offer a high-quality service without having to pay for training and management. It’s also much more affordable than you think.

From Michelin-star restaurants to luxury car dealerships, professional work is something most of us want, but few can afford. Boostability is unique in the field of SEO because it’s designed specifically for small businesses. Back when SEO was new, only the biggest and most profitable of companies could afford it. But Boost’s founders knew there was a way to give smaller organizations access to professional services at a price they could afford.
That’s the premise and the focus of Boostability’s entire mission, even a decade later. We know that when you’re running or working for an SMB, you don’t have time to focus on everything. Choosing when to ask for help and trusting professionals to do the job is more imperative than ever.

Local search engine optimization
This article has made it pretty clear that search engine optimization is the name of the game, but that’s not all. Local SEO is often more important for small businesses. In a study conducted by Uberall, smaller businesses are able to legitimately compete with bigger chains thanks to the “near me” search function. Local SEO helps you optimize that function for maximum engagement.
Local SEO is successful because of the keywords it targets. Rather than attempting to break into a crowded market, optimizing for a bigger keyword plus a location works wonders. (For example, ranking for “nail salon salt lake city” is much easier than “nail salon” or even “nail salon utah”). While the ranking options are great, businesses are also guaranteed a better and more sustainable customer base because they’re targeting people in a specific location.
We specialize in designing localized SEO strategies and here’s how.
This related search term works in tandem with “professional,” and it’s easy to see why. SEO is a constantly changing field. In 2019 alone, Google had seven confirmed algorithm updates. Combined with newly introduced privacy laws and a market with a serious competitive edge, having an expert on your side is more imperative than ever. While you can learn how to do SEO, it takes time and practice to perfect it.
Boostability didn’t get to be the number one white label SEO agency in the world by being amateurs on the job. SEO work requires specific training in a variety of important tasks in order to create a campaign that’s successful and provides the highest ROI value. But Boostability also believes that hiring an SEO provider shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg (or a foot, or your firstborn child). We created a proprietary software service combined with our scalable model that keeps it affordable for small businesses so they can focus on what they do best. A well-optimized internet presence is such a ubiquitous part of modern business. That means companies both large and small can’t afford to go without it. Our unique, scale-able model makes it so you don’t have to.
Here’s a case study showing how it works.
