SILICON SLOPES, UtahDec. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Boostability CEO Gavan Thorpe has been recognized among the best CEOs for small to midsize businesses in the United States by Comparably, a website that ranks workplaces based on anonymous reviews of current employees.

“The CEOs included in Comparably’s annual Best CEOs list ranked among the highest-rated leaders across thousands of CEOs,” said Comparably CEO Jason Nazar. “Most notably, this award came directly from the contribution of their own employees and ratings across multiple dimensions from a diverse talent pool of various departments, genders and backgrounds. It’s an honor to be included in the 2017 Best CEOs list and reflective of the great teams and company cultures these leaders have helped to foster.”

Thorpe was ranked fifth with a current rating of 91 out 100.

“I’m very honored that the team members at Boostability feel that way about me,” said Thorpe. “I’d like to thank all the employees, managers, and everyone who makes Boostability what it is. They all contributes to a positive workplace and a happy customer base.”

Thorpe was promoted to CEO in January 2017. Boostability CTO and cofounder Jared Turner has been impressed with Thorpe’s performance in his first year as the company’s CEO.

“It’s a great honor,” Turner said. “Gavan is well-deserving. He demonstrates leadership, genuine respect, and admiration and care for his employees and all those that he works with. He’s very thoughtful. He listens to all opinions, and he’s usually able to come up with solid solutions that feel very collaborative.”

Boostability also ranks highly for its leadership in general, making Comparably’s list of best managers. Thorpe credited the leadership team’s success, in part, to its experience.

“Most of the leadership team has worked their way up through the ranks,” Thorpe said, noting that Turner started out coding the company’s software as its lone initial developer. “That helps them understand what we’re trying to accomplish and what it’s like to be on the front lines.”

The high ratings for Boostability’s leadership team has contributed to the overall workplace culture of the company, as it also made Comparably’s list of best team cultures.

“I think it’s a great place to work,” Turner said. “We try to create a culture of accountability and performance, and a strong comradery exists. We have a fun time at work, and we try to engage and create a culture that feels like a larger family. We care for the employees, and that’s been important ever since the inception of the company that people feel valued.”
