Utah Business Games with BoostabilityWhen March knocked on our door, we answered the call, poised and ready. Every day, the tensions of competitive spirit slice through our consciousness, crisp and sharp like spring’s morning air, yet heady enough not to melt down with the arrival of afternoon sun. Like hunters, we scout and track, capture and conquer. Trainings are religiously observed, bets are placed, stakes are high. The execution is so precise, so surgical that it approaches a science. But with the elements of fury and rage so fitfully present, a mad science is the only accurate classification. Madness. Madness in March. No, this is not an account detailing college basketball bracketeering at Boostability. This is a featuring of Boost’s involvement in the Utah Business Games.

Since the beginning of the Utah Business Games, a mighty sporting and office game standoff between the most innovative companies of the Wasatch Front, Boostability has maintained a fierce profile and a dedicated presence. Last year, Boostability’s own Nic Padilla ousted every competitor to take home the winning trophy for the overall Foosball competition. Refining and perfecting his skills since playing in a nationally recognized Foosball tournament in Colorado in 2014, Padilla has been biding his time to battle at the Games once again, and this time with a few new tricks up his sleeve. Ever the humble and honorable sportsman, when Nic was asked for comment on his foosball finesse, he simply stated his recent technique change from a pullshot to a rollover, summarized his 5-bar passing technique, and closed by telling the press: “Thank you for being alive.”

The 2015 Utah Business Games take place at the 80,000 square foot Soccer City Sports Complex in Draper, Utah. This year’s event boasts new features and better-than-ever bonuses for participants, including thousands of dollars in prizes, more skill divisions for main events, double elimination, and more staff on site. Aside from the main face-offs of Table Tennis and Foosball tournaments, sponsor tournament stations will offer basketball contests such as Around the World, Pig, a 3-Point and Dunking Contest, Tornado and 7Up. Other tournament stations include Soccer Shoot Out, Bubble Hockey, Darts, Chess, Rock Climbing, and even a competition for the Fittest Executive.

Having arduously battled within its own ranks during inter-office Foosball and Ping-Pong heats at Lehi, Lindon and Orem, Boostability sends its swiftest and strongest to the arena this week. Repping new tees emblazoned with the phrase, “You Can’t Handle The Boost,” it’s only a matter of time before the world recognizes a team armed with proficiency, heart, and yes, just the right amount of madness.
