In Utah, the suicide rate among young people (ages 10-17 years old) is nearly 4X higher than the national average (see graph below). In 2017, suicide was the leading cause of death among young people (ages 10-24 years old) in Utah. LGBTQ+ youth are particularly vulnerable and 3X more likely to commit suicide than their peers.* Losing a single person to suicide is one too many.
