As the weather gets warmer, it seems our schedules fill up with all kinds of fun summer activities. And this year is no different around the Boostability offices. Throughout the summer it’s been non-stop for activities for employees and chances to get involved and give back to the community we live in; in addition to the hard work we put in every day for our customers.

Boostfest 2018

The annual summer BoostFest went down on Friday July 27th, 2018 at Living Planet Aquarium with amazing success. The fun activities brought together Boostability employees and their families to have a great night getting to know each other outside of work and see some amazing animals. Not only was there food and fish (and penguins and otters and sloths), but face painting and caricature drawings for everyone. In fact, it wasn’t just for the kids, everyone got involved in the face painting with 245 people getting all dolled up. 107 people also posed for caricature artists. Boost employees also know how to eat, 700 cupcakes in fact!

The fun night at the aquarium was for all Utah employees and their families. But a similar BoostFest celebration also happened at Boostability’s Berlin office in July, complete with their own custom T-shirts. The Berlin Boost office has recently doubled in space to accommodate rapid growth, so there’s lots to celebrate.

A Boostability staple is caring for the community around us. Both the community of small businesses we help succeed online across the world, but also the community we live in.

Boost Pride tshirt fundraiser

This summer Boostability employees raised $5,030 dollars through selling 220 BoostPride t-shirts. All that money was donated to Encircle, a Provo-based organization that helps at-risk LGBTQ+ youth. In Utah, the suicide rate among young people aged 10-17 is nearly 4x higher than the national average, and LGBTQ+ youth are particularly vulnerable. Boostability is honored to help Encircle, an organization that believes no matter who you are, no one should walk alone.

In July, six of our Boostability employees literally went over the edge, all to help the Utah Youth Village. Over the Edge is an international organization offering once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to rappel off a building for struggling foster children. These six Boost employees rappelled off the Workfront building, our neighbor in the Thanksgiving Point Park offices. All said it was terrifying, but very exciting and definitely worth it to help such a great cause.

Office Fun

If there’s one thing Boostability employees know how to do, it’s have fun. Our company culture is all about working hard for our customers, but also recognizing it’s important to take a break and blow off some steam. In a week-long Mario Kart Tournament in both Lehi and Orem offices, the competition was fierce with Alex Bonilla winning the Orem tournament, and Nathan Tylka winning in Lehi.

World Cup fever also spread through the office, and a handful of employees correctly picked France to win it all. Their brackets earned the most points through a crazy and hard-to-predict World Cup tournament.

In other fun, the Lehi Office held a hot dog eating contest. Fierce food competition! And the Orem office content team held a Harry Potter party to celebrate the great wizard’s birthday with food and costume contests. The Orem office also had a chalk art contest welcoming in the summer. We’ve got some seriously talented people working for Boost.
