Nathaniel Mower, digital Hardy Boy and cat dad

Nathaniel is a man who indulges in life’s simpler pleasures—cats, naps, board games, and the great outdoors. He’s also an Onsite Recommendation Specialist in our Orem office, and he’s been finding problems with websites (and ways to fix them!) since May of 2014. Nathaniel sat down with us for a few minutes to tell us what it’s like as a web solutions sleuth as well as what keeps him busy outside of work. (Spoiler alert: it’s a lot, and his croquet game is enough to make the Queen of Hearts shout, “Off with his head!”)

Quick! An elevator pitch! Tell us about yourself in 50 words or less.

Husband and father to two cats (Milady de Winter & Queenie). I find that truth can be found in both sushi and afternoon naps. I love to travel and explore. It is my belief that both mayonnaise and Miracle Whip belong in the trash.

How do you explain what you do to friends and family, especially when they’re not familiar with tech or SEO?

We make it easier to find companies on Google.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working with my team. Sharing funny stories and playing croquet.

What do you like about Boost’s company culture?

It’s very friendly. Anyone can talk to anyone about anything. It’s a very inviting sort of place.

Describe an on-the-job experience where you grew your skills or learned something new.

Sometimes we have the opportunity to assist other teams in lowering their queues before the end of the month. Its always fun to learn more fully how wide the SEO process actually spans.

How has Boostability prepared you for your future or furthered your career goals?

Boostability encourages career growth. They allot time each week for us to learn more about SEO or to shadow specific teams so that we can be ready for future positions when they open.

What’s your take on the digital marketing industry, especially from someone working in your particular role?

It’s ever-expanding. There will always be new algorithms to sort through as well as new processes to deliver the best product. I think digital marketing is still very much in its early stages of development.

What do you like to do when you aren’t at work?

Hikes. Naps. Food. Games. Books. Netflix. Nautical nonsense.

What’s something unique about you that people couldn’t tell just by looking at you?

I relish awkward moments.

If you could make a guest appearance on a TV show, what show would you choose?

Castlevania.

Anything else you want to share about yourself?

I have held a baby kangaroo in my arms, and it was wonderful. [Madeline chiming in here—it does sound wonderful!]
