Zero‑click search happens when a user’s question is answered directly on the results page, without needing to visit a website. These answers can appear in AI Overviews, Featured Snippets, Knowledge Panels, People Also Ask boxes, image lightboxes, and even “near me” results. The user still gets information and the opportunity to bring them onto a site might be gone, but their underlying intent may remain, especially for local or commercial queries. This creates an opportunity for brands to capture that intent in other ways.
