G
Glossary Term
Guidelines that have been published for the benefit of webmasters so they know what Google considers “good” and “bad” practices. For example: make pages primarily for users, not for search engines; don’t deceive your users; avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings; think about what makes your website unique, valuable, or engaging.
Google also lets us know what we should be avoiding, like link schemes or little to no original content on your site, hidden text, and abusing structured data markup. The Google Webmaster Guidelines are very similar to the Quality Rater Guidelines but they are written for webmasters as opposed to raters.
