A lot of people ask “Why SEO?” The answer is simple. People search all day, every day for everything under the sun. Google processes 3.5 billion search queries each day. 3.5 billion. And 95% of searchers stay on page 1 of their search.

SEO helps put your website in front of people when they search the internet. And that’s helpful for two reasons:

1 – You can answer customer questions.

2 – Your product or service shows up first when customers search to buy.

Of course catchy ad campaigns and personable social media accounts help put your company and products in front of consumers in a positive way. But SEO helps put your website in front of consumers in a much more organic and natural way.

Answering customer questions

Many people research products and services before they buy. They want to know quality, prices, specs, and options and they want to know how the product or service will satisfy their pain points. Why not get those answers from you? By being present in the “research” phase, you establish your company in the searchers’ minds and turn potential customers into real customers. Don’t miss out on that opportunity.

Being present when customers are ready to buy

Remember, 95% of people stay on page 1 of their internet search. That’s a lot of money for businesses on page 1, and not a lot for everyone else. So when someone searches for a product or service you provide, your website needs to show up before your competitors’.

SEO is the purest form of direct marketing–people search and you are there to fill the need. No flashy ads, no salesly nonsense, just your website ready and waiting to serve the customer.

Why SEO

Simply having a website and selling great products or providing great services doesn’t guarantee you’ll outrank your competitors in the search results. Your website must be built to cater to search engines and your website must have a strong reputation online. SEO helps your website satisfy both of those requirements and helps show search engines you’re worth putting on page 1.

A solid SEO strategy can take your website from page 100 to page one, infinitely increasing your chances of being found by potential customers.

Jeremy I really like have you’ve simplified the definition of SEO. While SEO tactics vary and can be difficult to explain in simple terms, the goal of SEO is quite simple, improve your websites rankings on the search engines, ideally top page rankings on page one. This will put your business listing in front of the most potential clients possible.
