Twitter Analytics For Your Business
Published on September 15, 2011, by Jordan Colton
Twitter recently acquired BackType, an analytics company, that will soon be releasing a platform for business owners and regular users. Last week they released a version for developers, which will be a lot of fun to play around with.
Getting this kind of data directly from a social media website is going to be huge! As I have talked about previously about the impact of social media, it will be wonderful to see what kind of traffic and conversions you might be getting. Using this tool, you can see which tweets are more effective, and can change your structure accordingly. According to the Twitter Dev Blog, the product provides three key benefits:
- Understand how much your website content is being shared across the Twitter network
- See the amount of traffic Twitter sends to your site
- Measure the effectiveness of your Tweet Button integration
These are all great things I would love to see for my small business ventures. Here is a screenshot of what the analytics will look like, just so you can get a taste:
This is going to be a fairly simple analytic data set, that should be fairly easy to understand. It may not be as in depth as Google Analytics, but it will still be a great resource in finding out where your traffic is coming from, and how it is affecting the sales and reputation of your company.
