The Spreading of Information Around the World
Published on September 27, 2011, by Jordan Colton
The Dead Sea Scrolls have always interested to me. I grew up very religious and was always fascinated with the Middle East. Even though I never had the opportunity to learn more formally about the ancient Middle East, I have been able to learn about my interests informally through the Internet.
One of Google’s missions is to make sure that information is accessible to everyone in order to gain more knowledge. It is exciting that with the help of Google, I can look at the Dead Sea Scrolls, and read what is on them without spending the money to go to Israel. With a translation in English, we now have a way to learn more about life centuries ago.
Google is going to continue providing cool features to everyone, which is astounding! I love sharing the cool things I find with friends so they can better understand the power of the internet and how easy information is to access. A recent study has stated Google makes you smarter, which is not hard to believe, since so much information is now at our fingertips. The internet is not going anywhere and it is very cool to see that there is so much to learn and to gain from it.
What cool experiences and things have you found on the internet? Do you agree that this vast amount of information being spread around is a good thing? Share your thoughts below!
