Travis Thorpe, one of our founders, has more than 15 years experience in building and managing online marketing technology solutions and products. Prior to founding Boostability Travis spent 6 years as Director of Technology at Enhance Interactive (acquired by Marchex) where he was instrumental in turning a start-up technology company into a world class enterprise. He also spent more than 2 years as Chief Technology Officer at Orange Soda (acquired by Deluxe Corp) where he created successful online marketing products and put together a top notch technical team to run production and operations.
Travis’ expertise in internet marketing product development and technology has led to highly profitable and scalable services that have benefited tens of thousands of customers and led to tremendous growth in the every company he has been a part of.
Rick Horsley, co-founder of Boostability, has served as Chairman of the Board since its inception in 2009. Rick’s entrepreneurial experience includes ownership of one of Utah’s largest and last independent bookstores and a commercial holding and leasing company. He has over 12 years of experience overseeing the profitability and success of numerous organizations. Rick held various influential positions at 3Com and Palm Computing that directly influenced the companies’ partner relationships and distribution. Rick’s passion is creating business relationships that are mutually beneficial for all parties involved. He has a proven track record of bringing the right people together to accomplish business success.
Jared Turner, one of our founders, has served as our Chief Technology Officer since our beginning in 2009. With more than 14 years experience as a software developer, engineer and technology manager, Jared has gained extensive experience in software development, application architecture, database design and operational management. He has experience with start-up organizations and a deep knowledge of what is required to grow and scale over a company lifetime.
In his career, Jared has built and managed teams of software developers responsible for building PPC search engine and click processing systems that handled over 300 million daily search queries as well as a cutting edge SEO campaign management platform that managed tens of thousands of customers.
Russ Larson brings over two decades of financial experience to Boostability. Russ holds a MBA from Yale University and a BS in Finance from Brigham Young University. Prior to joining Boostability in 2009, Russ held key financial leadership positions including CFO and Controller at a regional real estate development / general contracting company named J Ballard Construction; and Financial Analyst / Manager at several public companies, including IBM Global Services, ExxonMobil Corporation, and The CIT Group.
Russ directs all aspects of Boostability's financial operations, including accounting, tax, treasury, forecasting & budgeting, capital raising, financial analysis & reporting, strategic planning, and HR.
During basketball season Russ is a part-time radio broadcaster & statistician for IMG College Network (formerly KSL Newsradio), which broadcasts the Brigham Young University men's basketball games. And, until Jimmer Fredette's prolific scoring career as a collegian at BYU, Russ held the title of 4th leading scorer in the history of BYU men's basketball. Russ now accepts his 5th-place position and can admit Jimmer was better. Hesitantly.
Matt Tennison has nearly 20 years experience in the marketing and advertising field and over 15 years experience in high-level business development and partner relations. Over his career Matt has worked for large advertising publications and national agencies where he achieved great success in advertising sales, business development and sales management. Prior to joining Boostability in 2011, Matt ran his own advertising agency for eight years, where he became very familiar with both traditional marketing methods and new digital marketing techniques. He has an intimate understanding of the SMB marketplace and an expertise in forging high performing partner relationships.
Nathan Judd has worked in the search marketing industry for over 13 years. During this time he has contributed to the eventual acquisition of multiple internet marketing agencies through the implementation of various processes and systems. These crucial strategies enabled the prolonged success of these firms in the ever-changing world of search marketing. Nathan’s project management experience prior to Boostability allows him to see the big picture when it comes to connecting technology and a workforce. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology with an emphasis in Administration.
Kelly Shelton has served as our Vice President of Marketing since June 2011 and Vice President of Channel Partners since June 2013. He began his marketing career in 1996 at Financial Freedom International, Inc. where he spent 12 years serving in various executive positions, including Licensee Manager and VP of Marketing. He later served as Marketing Director of Family Financial Education Foundation a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. Kelly has successfully managed large marketing departments and budgets and has been responsible for major growth in each of the companies he has worked for. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and Business Management from Brigham Young University.
Trish Stines has over 15 years of experience developing and managing partner relationships. Prior to Boostability Trish spent 10 years at Dex/RH Donnelley in numerous positions including Product Manager & Channel Marketing Manager. She also spent 3 years at Webvisible serving as the Director of Partner/Business Development, and was instrumental in large-scale partnership acquisition and relationship management. Most recently, at Deluxe Corporation, Trish identified, developed, and maintained strategic partnerships as the Business Development Executive.
Trish has proven ability to profitably grow and maintain business relationships at all levels. Her efforts have resulted in millions of dollars of incremental revenue throughout her career.
